But don’t be afraid. “Ve only vant you to taste our vines!” , see website http://www.rattlesnakehills.com/events.htm

Editorial: Fall is upon us and the outdoor events are almost finished. At the end of the month there will be a plethora of Halloween parties. Starting next month the amount of music activities will slow down for the next 4 or 5 months. This is the typical cycle through the holidays. But this is a great time to visit with friends, so staying at home is still a choice - not a requirement. I hope to see you out during October !

Editorial: I hope you had a happy and safe Holiday. As you can see from above; January is one of the most meager months for activities. But don’t despair here are some other ideas to keep you entertained...
• The Tri-City Americans Hockey Team have 13 home games during Jan/Feb, for dates and times go to http://www.amshockey.com/
• Jokers Casino has live comedians at least once or twice a week and DJ music on some nights. Call 943-1173 for specifics
• Dance classes start again in January so check out Beth Trost at http://www.dancebybethtrost.com/ for ballroom and swing dance styles, and for classes and private lessons in salsa/merengue see Dana & Christian Camarena at http://www.camarenalatinrhythms.com/doku.php
• The Red Room (coffee house and music venue) on Vineyard in Kennewick is an all ages club (which means no booze) that books live music every week. Want a place you can bring your teenagers to enjoy live music, then this is the place. Check out their website http://redroomcoffeeandconcerthouse.com/
• Take a mini wine tour of Red Mountain or Prosser. Limit your visit to three or four and take notes of the varieties/blends you like. Right now there are no crowds and most are open every Saturday and Sunday. For a listing and location of the +200 wineries from Yakima to Walla Walla see http://www.winecountrywashington.org/avaOverview.aspx

A friend called me and told me I should check out the sheep at Last Chance Road, west of Walla Walla. She said there was one black sheep amongst the white. Turns out there were a couple of black sheep but the were pretty far away from the fence where I was. I had to wait until there were some heads aimed sort of towards me instead of all bottoms before I started clicking away.

There's something about grazing sheep that is timeless. And they could be in any country around the world. Universal would be the word.

Early in December I drove over to Kennewick. On the way back I noticed a field in which the irrigation water had been left on. The ice created some pretty cool sculptures.

Merry Christmas to all of you, and may you all have a joyous New Year!!
